Scheduling

  • An initial telephone consultation is the first step in setting up an appointment. Please call my office number at 682-651-8651. This initial consultation:
    • Gives you an opportunity to tell me what you are wanting to work on and for you to ask any questions you might have about my therapy style, therapy in general, fees, etc.
    • Gives me an opportunity to see if I am able to help you and, if in some cases I am not, to be able to help you with referrals or other options.
  • Once we have gauged that I am a good fit for what you are looking for, we can set up an intake appointment.
    • The intake session is typically 90 minutes and consist of me collecting a detailed history from you including things you want to work on, family history, relationship history, etc.
    • Please note that this session typically looks different from therapy sessions in that I will be asking very specific questions and overall the session is more structured, whereas in therapy sessions, conversation is usually more free-flowing and less structured.
  • Following the intake appointment, a therapy session may be scheduled depending on your comfort with continuing to therapy as well as my ability to help you with your presenting concern.
    • My schedule is currently fairly flexible. I mostly see clients between 9:00am and 6:00pm M-F. Appointments on Saturday mornings are also possible on an as needed basis depending on availability.
  • I am not a crisis therapist and thus do not offer after-hours crisis calls. If you are in crisis and need to talk to a counselor, please consider contacting one of the following organizations:
    • National Suicide Prevention Hotline - 1-800-2738255 (https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/)
    • Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas - 214-828-1000 (https://www.sccenter.org/)
    • If you are in danger of hurting yourself or others, or otherwise need urgent assistance, make your way to the nearest emergency room immediately.
